Breeders

Every cattery listed below is a paid-up member of SWNCC, registered with the GCCF, breeding Norwegian Forest Cats in accordance with the UK Breed Standard, and signed up to our Code of Ethics.

If you are looking for a kitten, please contact the breeder direct. Our Committee cannot recommend one cattery over another — every entry here is the result of many years of careful breeding.

Penmorrow · Cornwall

Mrs Margaret Ashton
Penmorrow was established in 1979 and is the oldest Norwegian Forest Cat cattery in the South West. Margaret breeds a small number of kittens each year, chiefly in brown tabby and brown tabby with white, and specialises in the heavier, bigger-boned males that the breed is prized for.

Tremaine · Cornwall

Mr Peter Hendry & Mrs Annabel Hendry

Foxcombe · Dorset

Mrs Susan Winterbourne
Foxcombe has been breeding Norwegians since 2016, in modest numbers, with a particular interest in preserving the older British lines descended from Fjordsinger and Pawpeople foundation imports. Susan breeds chiefly in brown tabby, blue tabby and blue-and-white.

Kernow Forest · Cornwall

Mr David Carew-Pole
Kernow Forest is a long-established cattery that has operated in various locations across Cornwall since 1991. David is the club’s Welfare Officer and specialises in the heavier-boned traditional Norwegian type. Kittens from Kernow Forest are placed only after a home visit (or equivalent video call) and always with a written contract.
